Hill Country Firemen's Association of TexasFrom the Desk of President Grant Teplicek I'd like to extend a West Texas welcome to each of the firefighters that visit our site. Our Association has been serving the Hill Country for over 75 years and we carry the honored tradition of our brothers and sisters in the service. We hope you have time to read some of our history (see below). We've come a long way since the incipient phase back in 1929. We look forward to hearing from you and please stop by our stations if you're in the Hill Country. Enjoy and stay safe, Grant December 15, 1929 The Junction Fire Department held their regular monthly banquet at the Junction Baptist Church and invited representatives from Rocksprings, Menard, Sonora, Mason, and Kerrville, for the purpose of organizing a district firemen's association in the Hill Country. All were to serve one year from February 1930. Jno M. Hankins was instructed to write Chief John Parker of San Angelo, the first Vice-President of the State Association, to meet with members in Menard and help write the by-laws and constitution. The Hill Country Firemen's Association has a long history. The minutes of our association date back to this first meeting. More history of the association can be found under "Minutes" on the Secretary's Corner link and other links on this page. Thanks for visiting.
