Preface The racing results were compiled by J. B. Teters of the Ballinger Volunteer Fire Department. This information was also taken from the Association minutes. Some of the minutes listed only first place times, while some only listed first place results. These records show only the towns that placed first, second, or third. In some cases, the second or third place times might shown a faster time than the first place time. This is a result of a run-off for these places. These records do no show when a host town won a fast time trophy.
The first racing record of the HCFA was recorded with the following:
Junction and Menard tied for first place. Menard won the run off with 40 4/5 seconds and Junction 41 seconds. August 11, 1931 The pumper races were called off because Eden didn't have a pumper. The pumper races were called off on account of rain. The slowest time in the 6 man pumper race was set by Ballinger with a time of 1 minute and 5 seconds in Junction, Texas. The first recorded water fight with a bucket on a wire, winner was not given. The first record of ladies racing was given with the following results:
